RV Sonne (old) was a research vessel serving from 1977 to 2014 mainly in the Pacific and Indian Ocean mostly for geoscience purposes. Here the crew is launching a scientific trawling in 500 to 1000 meters depth. Die Sonne (alt) war als deutsches Forschungsschiff zwischen 1977 und 2014 überwiegend im Pazifik und im Indischen Ozean meist für die Geoforschung unterwegs. Hie lässt die Besatzung ein Schleppnetz ins Wasser, mit dem zu wissenschaftlichen Zwecken in Tiefen von 500 bis 1000 Metern Tiefsee-Organismen gefangen werden.
