A beautiful woodcut from 1493 of a map of the world. It shows Africa and Europe with the Indian Ocea and illustration comes from the Nuremberg Chronicle, which is an enyclodpedia of world events, mythology and christian history. This extra-ordinary work was one of the earliest books ever printed and the first to successfully integrate text and images.
