Kartanegara Bridge a suspension bridge spanning the Mahakam River at Tenggarong City the capital of Kutai Kartanegara Regency an impressive sight in East Kalimantan Province of Borneo. The Present Kartanegara Bridge was completed in late in 2015 after the former Kartanegara Bridge collapsed a few years before. Tenggarong was also the capital of the ancient Kutai Kingdom and was first established in the 13th century as a Hindu Kingdom but by the 17th century became an Islamic Kingdom which ended in 1960 but in 2001 the kingdom was revived again and is presently once more a Sultanate which upholds the culture of the Kutai Kingdom
