An F-15C Eagle, from the 67th Fighter Squadron, part of the 18th Operations Group at Kadena Air Base, Japan., begins inflight refueling from a KC-135 Stratotanker assigned to the 909th Air Refueling Squadron, 300 nautical miles from Guam, during Exercise Valiant Shield 16 (VS16). VS16 is a biennial field exercise with a primary focus on interoperability and integration of joint training among forces.
