The apostlespreserve their traditional portions of the Creed in each case, but at Chudleigh, Malachiaccompanies St. Philip instead of Joel with the text Ascendam ad vos in judicio et erovobis testis (apparently meant for Chapter III, v. 5). Joel at Chudleigh goes with , while that apostle is, at Kenton, accompanied by Haggai. At Chudleigh,Micah goes with St. Simon, at Kenton Malachi. Joel at Chudleigh has the text :Effundatn de spiritu meo super omnein carnem (II. 28), and Micah has Deponet dominusomnes iniqtdtates vestras (VII, 19). Daniel at Kenton takes the place of David at PANELS OF DEVONSHIRE SCREENS 233 Chudleigh. In our illustrations we have selected the most typical figures from bothclasses, and have not troubled to put the pairs together as they come on the screen.
