Thedouble rings, as shown, extend thefull width of the face of the pistonwhich is 4 ins. in this case, and areprovided centrally with interiorflanges which engage between thefollower and piston. The rings forthis particular piston are of castiron and are held in place by theirown elasticity. The piston is pro-vided with a tail rod to carry theweight. The valves of the Calumet en- Street Ry.
