The ubiquitous yet quintessential Alaska bush plane, a DeHavilland DHC-2 "Beaver"

The ubiquitous yet quintessential Alaska bush plane, a DeHavilland DHC-2 "Beaver" though long out of production (1947-1967) it is still very much the preferred machine for hauling, freight, passengers or a combination, into the bush and backwaters of Alaska and elsewhere in the world. Whether on wheels, floats or skis the "Beaver" is an icon, a symbol of ruggedness and dependability. The pictured "Beaver" floats gently dockside awaiting the start of another days flying at Christiansen Lake near Talkeetna, AK early in the fall.
