Dr. Gushingwas educated in Newbur}, Vt. ; and attended medical lec-tures at Dartmouth, Vermont College, and Jefferson Medi-cal College, Philadelphia. He began practice in Bradford,Vt , and was there five years ; four years in Lansing-burg, N. Y., and sixteen in Lynn, Mass. ; three in Bostonand then in Springfield, Mass. ; moving each time on accountof sickness in his family. He has been established in Spring-field now for twenty years, holding a leading position amongpractitioners of Western Massachusetts.
