April 30. while his infantr}^ came up at i p. m. aheadof the Twelfth Corps, which arrived at 2 p. m. The Twelfth Corps at once took position in the woods,on a line nearly parallel to the Plank road, with the left rest-ing near the Chancellor house and the right near a churchabout one and a half miles therefrom.
