Canary Red Admiral (Vanessa vulcania) in the Laurisilva of La Gomera. Discussion is still open on the matter if this butterfly is in fact a subspecies of the Indian Red Admiral (Vanessa indica) and should as such be considered an endemic subspecies instead of an endemic species of the Canaries. Photographed in Spain.
