Many good varieties will occasionally fail to produce satisfactory crops through lack of culture and fertility, or insects and fungus, CULTURE.âFor orchard fruits, the ground should be kept thoroughly cultivated and fertilized for the first few years. The cheapest way to do this is to grow potatoes or garden vegetables between the trees. If trees must be planted in sod, keep them growing rapidly by mulching, as directed on the first page.
