Throne of the priest, Temple of Dionysus, Athens, Greece, late 19th or early 20th century. Dionysus was the Greek god of wine. The theatre was used by the Ancient Greeks for festivals in his honour. Built on the Acropolis in the 4th century BC, it seated between 14,000 and 17,000 people. Lantern slide.
