HelianthuS (Hardy Sunflower) The perennial Sunflowers are among the most effective hardy plants for large borders for planting among shrubbery, or as clumps on the lawn. They are remarkably free-flowering, will succeed in any soil, and are invaluable for decorative purposes, or as cut flowers during the summer and autumn. Giganteus. One of our native varieties, with medium sized canary-yellow flowers in September and October; 6 feet. Maximiliana.
