Mr. Wilson took up his residence in Brooklynin October, 1859, and in July, 1862, he joined Putnam Engine, withwhich he served until the disbandment of the Volunteer served two years as assistant foreman and two years as foremanof this company. He was regarded as an efficient fireman, a modelcitizen, and a companionable friend. Winant H. Bennett was born, November 6, 1829, in the oldWyckoff Homestead, corner of Third and Hamilton avenues,Brooklyn, and was for some time teacher in Public School No. 10. W f#. Wm. T. Haw. He is a druggist of considerable repute, and is at present carryingon an extensive business in Van Brunt Street, South Brooklyn. Hewas appointed hospital steward in the 90th Regiment, Col. JosephS. Morgan, and served with that command at Key West,resigned and joined the 5th New York Cavalry and was captureGettysburg.
