It is probable that the specimens from which the foregoing descriptionwas taken, were in a state of change: the occurrence of reddish and darkbrown feathers, mingled with the plumage, indicates that the change eitherto the summer or winter dress has not been completed; and we think it bet-ter to give the description as it really is, than to guess at what might be themature colours in either state. ■^cZyia ///<f/7r7 17
