Srinagar, Kashmir. 20 September 2019. Few Kashmiri residents appear near the closed shops in Srinagar, as restrictions continue in the city and in the Kashmir Valley for the 47 th consecutive day. The clampdown in Kashmir was implemented on 5 th August at the time of the announcement by the central government of the abrogation of Article 370, which granted special status to the Jammu and Kashmir State. The announcement was followed by the enforcement of a tight curfew and communication blockade in the region. Indian forces have recently claimed though that the restrictions have been relaxed in
