The station layout provides for thirty unitseach comprising a 10,000 hp. special single runner vertical Francis turbine connected to a vertical 9000 ,000 volt, 25 cycle, three-phase generator operated at r. p. m. The turbines which operate on a headvarying from 29 ft. to 43 ft. were furnished by I. P. Morris Company and the generators and electrical equip-ment by General Electric Company. Hugh L. Cooper was chief engineer in charge of hjdroelectric designand construction of dam, power-house and locks. The station superstructure, electrical equipment andtransmission lines were designed by Stone and Webster Engineering Corporation, Boston, Mass.—ElectricalWm-ld, May 31, 1913. generator floor to roof. For the substructure foundations excavation wascarried 25 ft. below the surface of the blue limestone bed of the river. From
