A staff member seen at the floating solar power plant in Alqueva. Inaugurated on the 15th of July, this plant is ready to supply energy to more than 30% of the population of Moura and Portel regions, in the south of Portugal. With close to 12,000 photovoltaic panels occupying 4 hectares, the floating solar power plant is located at Alqueva Dam and has an installed power of 5 MW and the capacity to produce around GWh per plant is the largest in Europe at a reservoir.
