The image shows Lt. William Fox, from the Signal Corps, being greeted as he arrives in France. The photograph was taken on July 24, 1918, as Lt. Fox and the 5th Regiment Engineers, 7th Division, were detraining at Cresskill Station in New Jersey before marching to Camp Merritt. The photograph was censored and released by the Censor on August 23, 1918.
