Whereas, tlie highway on the water side, betweenthe City Hall and Tryntje Clocks (corner of Pearl street and Hano-ver square), is so washed away that the passengers are in danger ofsome mischief, and it is therefore necessary that the said highway berepaired and made level, it is ordered that the owners of housesfronting on the highway shall cause a footpath of six feet in widthto be placed before their premises within four weeks ; and for thefilling up of the rest, the Magistrates will take some course by whichthe owners shall be assisted by the town.
