Saber nuclear missile, artwork. Known by its NATO reporting name of SS-20 Saber, this is the RSD-10 Pioneer, an intermediate-range ballistic missile used by the Soviet Union during the Cold War. It was in use from 1976 to 1988. It was a two-stage solid-fuel rocket, with a range of 5500 kilometres. It was capable of being fitted with three nuclear warheads to provide greater impact and damage at the target area.
