A fabulous sarcophagus rosewood tea caddy c1830 inlaid with ornate mother-of-pearl decorations. The rosewood is nicely figured and is enhanced with mother-of-pearl shell. The caddy sits on four bun feet and at each end there are the original wooden ring handles. Inside there are two lift out inner caddies with hinged lids. The central area has a glass caddy bowl (later) . The inside lid has its original red velvet lining and the caddy retains its original lock and hinges.
