Through the great campaign : with Hastings and his spellbinders . uffsdut\ to carry the Pennsylvania Railroad pay-money from Philadelphia to Altoona. Thisfrequently amounted to $60,000 in cash. Yet henever lost a dollar. He remained with Lloyd & Co. foryears, until their financial stringencyin the seventies compelled a sever-ance of business relations. Since thenhe has been in business for himself asbanker, coal operator and has a beautiful home in Greens-burg, w^here he has entertained main^distinguished men, among them Presi-dent Harrison, and where during thelate campaign, on two memorableoccasions, he entertained GeneralHastings and the members of his party, togetherwnth Robert Pitcairn, C.
