I noted here num- bers of well flowered polyantha roses and French hydrangeas and a beautiful lot of specimen Otaheite oranges. Or- ders for weddings, dinners and other social functions are keeping the staff here busy. At Hamlin the Florist's, in the Little building, the newest of Boston's retail stores, business is running smoothly and a good clientele of customers is being secured. Nothing but praise is heard from all who visit this store. Various Notes. The "Say It with Flowers" week opened auspiciously in Boston Novem- ber 10. In all directions the "Say It with Flowers" slogan is in evidence, not only in store windows, but on autos, delivery wagons, etc. November 11, Armistice day, the numerous retailers' autos went to the wholesale markets and secured flowers contributed by growers, salesmen or retailers for distribution to the sixty or more Boston hospitals. Everyone seems full of enthusiasm and the work done this week will stimulate the cut flower trade not only tempor- arily, but permanently. At Horticultural hall no chrysanthe- mum show was held this year. There was a small exhibition November 8
