The edu-cational value of Manual Training is kept constantlyin mind as the chief end and aim of the subject. Knife work, basketry, clay modeling, wood carvingand other light forms of work are provided as a sub-stitute for l)ench work whenever this seems best. foi;r-ye.\r courseWood Working, Basketry, and Clay On One of (lie Tennis Cnurls 1 Department of Physical Training E^r Three terms of this work are re(|uired. During thewinter term, all of the young women living in thedormitory are required to take Physical Training. The aim of this department is three-fold: educa-tional, hygienic, recreative. The course is outlined toprepare students to leach this subject in public .schools. The work consists of indoor and outdoor work includes running, military tactics, drillswith hand apparatus, esthetic and folk dancing, gym-nastic games and basketball. Hockey, basket-ball,tennis and field athletics are enjoyed on the campus. The basketball team is a feature of this play a number of games with other schools dur-ing the season.
