Colonel Edmond Herbert Grove-Hills, (1864-1922), British astronomer. Grove-Hills was a military engineer, but in his spare time pursued astronomy and photography. Later in his career he became involved in performing state surveys, working in Africa and Canada. He described a method of determining longitudes for survey work from photographs of the moon. Grove-Hills served as president of the Royal Astronomical Society from 1913-15, and as secretary of the Royal Institution of Great Britain, London, from 1915-22.
