Blackpool. 11th. January 2017: A small group of antifracking protesters held up a delivery of material being delivered to Cuadrilla's contraversial shalegas fracking site on Preston New Road, Little Plumpton near Blackpool when they blocked the eastbound lane to slow walk the lorry to the site about a mile further up the road. Protesters arrived around 09:00 hours and remained in front of the lorry with local police in attendance. Police reinforcements arrived around 14:00 hours and escorted the lorry to the drill site where it arrived around 30 minutes later. A local group of anti-fracking Nanas who slow walk the deliveries in at the site each day, delaying each delivery by around 15 minutes, carried out their independent protest at the site entrance and were not involved in the slow walk protest.
