The latest addition to our tram fleet, the Birney was built in 1920 in Philadelphia USA. It was the last tram to operate in Invercargill and was retired from service there on 31 May 1952. Restoration began in 2009, and the Birney was brought into Christchurch for the first time in November 2013 for the Tram restart.
