Pentre Eiriannell, farm & family home of the Morris brothers in the 18th century whose “multi-faceted talents made an important contribution to the Age of Enlightenment in Wales” Set amongst sloping fields at the head of Afon Goch estuary/Dulas beach and the Pilot Boat Inn. The eldest,Lewis Morris, was a hydrographer (famous for his surveys of hte Welsh Coast), antiquary, poet and lexicographer. Together with his brother Richard he founded the Honorable Society of Cymmrodorion. Richard Morris was a folklorist who worked as a clerk in the Navy Office. He supervised editions of the Welsh Bible issued by the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge. William Morris was a scholar of the Welsh language and Botanist. John Morris was a sailor who died during an attack on Cartagena.
