A view across Haweswater with a small footbridge to Kidsty Pike in Mardale in the Eden Valley in the Lake District
The reservoir of Haweswater is in the Far Eastern Fells of the Lake District. It was created by flooding the villages of Mardale Green and Measdale in 1935 in order to provide water for Manchester. Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk goes along the edge of the reservoir.
