Inside the Coloseum Rome Italy in black and white

The Colosseum or Flavian Amphitheater was begun by Vespasian, inaugurated by Titus in 80 and completed by Domitian. Located on marshy land between the Esquiline and Caelian Hills, it was the first permanent amphitheater to be built in Rome. Its monumental size and grandeur as well as its practical and efficient organization for producing spectacles and controlling the large crowds make it one of the great architectural monuments achieved by the ancient Romans. This image was taken on medium format 6x9 black and white 50 asa negative and scanned to the highest standards, and shows very fine detail in the coloseum structure. This image is defocused across the bottom of the image, Sharp focus is in the middle. This image has a full range of tones and will reproduce to a very high standard for all media uses.
