Shoulder and chest anatomy. Artwork of an oblique left anterior view from above of muscles (red) and bones of the shoulder and chest. At lower centre and centre left are the pectoralis major muscles of the chest, separated by the sternum. At upper centre (skull removed) are the cervical vertebrae and the first rib. At upper right are parts of the trapezius and levator scapulae muscles of the back. Across centre is one of the clavicles (collar bones). The shoulder joint is at bottom right, along with the tendons of the two-headed biceps brachii muscle, together with the attachment of the pectoralis major to the humerus (upper arm bone).
