Windermere Cumbria UK 2nd June 2018 Lakes Line closed by Northern Rail. Office of Rail Regulation estimates of station usage based on ticket sales data is more than a million passengers annually use the Lakes Line from Windermere to Oxenholme is being being replaced by bus from Monday 4th June for 2 weeks, then only a limited service will run until Tuesday 31st July. It was rumoured it was to close the line fully for 8 weeks.
