A French hunting hanger,circa 1730. Long,heavy,single-edged blade with a double-edged point. The entire length of the blade is covered with stamped oval marks,etched martial trophies,flowery vines,as well as French coats of arms and inscriptions over remnants of a background gilding on both sides. The signature,"LES FRERES TESCHE A SOHLINGEN" is on the back of the blade. Brass knucklebow hilt bearing hunting themes in relief. Curved staghorn grip with copper wire winding.
