The foliage isvery beautiful;. flowers mostly scarlet, and not showy. The next autumn the roots maybetaken up and kept in the cellar, in sand, to be planted out the following Spring. Should beplanted in beds or groups, and make a rich bed on the lawn. Unless the plants are strongwhen set out, they will not produce much effect the first year. Soak the seed well in hot.
