Petros Elia, General Secretary of the United Voices of the World union speaks at the rally on the 22nd day of the strike by cleaners employed by anti-union cleaning contractor Thames Cleaning at 100 Wood St. The rally marked the start of a national campaign against against CBRE, the Fortune 500 commercial real estate company who own the offices and support Thames who allege they cannot afford to pay cleaners a living wage, but wasted over £20,000 trying to get an injunction to stop the strike, an action which landed the grass-roots union with crippling legal costs.
