Bumboats, traditionally used to transport goods, now ferry tourists along the Singapore River for sightseeing, berthed along Clarke Quay

In Singapore, bumboats are also called twakow or tongkang, were once used extensively for transport purposes along the Singapore River and other rivers, as well as along the coast of the mainland & other nearby islands. Clarke Quay is a conserved historical landmark located along the Singapore River at the fringe of the Central Business District, comprising blocks of restored warehouses and shophouses, which house various restaurants & nightclubs.
