Thus a severe vibrationgives a greater cyclometer record than a slight the record made by this instrument is averaged withthe number of pedometer readings and spills of water,and some allowance made for relative speeds, a fairly ac-curate estimate is had of the riding qualities of the varioussections of track. B. McLenegan, general manager of the CentralCalifornia Traction Company, presented a description ofthe 1200-volt system used by that company betweenStockton and Lodi.
