Representation of hormonal disruption during menopause leading to the lack of ovulation and the halt of periods. The woman is no longer fertile. The ovary reponds less and less to FSH and LH secreted by the pituitary gland, the ovulation is then occuring less often. The rate of inhibine, estrogen and progesterone secreted by the ovary decreases, reducing the negative feedback of FSH and LH, of which the secretion then increases, which provokes hot flushes.
