He was associated with theleaders and organizers of the Republican party and correspondedwith such men as Joshua R. Giddings, Benjamin F. Wade andS. P. Chase. He died at the early age of forty-seven years. , 1865, having amassed what at that day was considered ahandsome fortune. Lemuel and Unity Hole were both buried atthe Augusta Friends meeting house.
