Leaves ovate, ii'-3' long, l'-2V wide, acute or acuminate at the apex, broadly cuneate to truncate at the base, doubly serrate with acute lobes, blue-green above, paler beneath, membranous to subcoriaceous, dull, those of shoots sometimes cordate; corymbs many-flowered, glabrous; flowers /'-lo' broad; stamens 5-20: anthers pink; styles and nutlets 3-5; fruit short- ellipsoid, slightly angular, crimson, slightly pruinose, 5'_J8' thick; flesh firm at maturity.
