Stopper of linen in which ten different stops are worked with multicolored silk and the initials LA, FGVW, EG and ANNO 1803 are embroidered, The initials LA and FGV(an), W, the parents of the embroiderer, are done in large italic letters. This seems to have been customary in the orphanage where she presumably resided, the Amsterdam Maagdenhuis. The preserved proofs show that she was a skilled craftswoman. Did she give credit to her teacher with the large letters EG? The stoppers are worked in three rows one above the other using the following techniques: (top row) kilim, matting, cross-stitch
