Woman’s Army Combat Uniform (ACU) camouflage hat, pants, desert combat boots, Army tee-shirt and brassiere sitting on or near a civilian bed. In 2013 there were more than 200,000 women on active duty in the American military and on 5/7/2013 the Pentagon released a report stating that as many as 26,000 members of the military may have been sexually assaulted during 2012. The Pentagon report quoted anonymous surveys where the incidents of unwanted sexual conduct in the military far outnumbered officially reported cases. The annual report FY2012 states that of the million active duty personnel, over 6 percent women, 12,100 active duty women and 13,900 men experienced unwanted sexual contact.
