Rickshaw festival
The race is part of a one week program to promote Bangladesh in order to build tourism, business and cultural opportunities. Dhaka, known as the 'rickshaw capital of the world'. Approximately 400,000 cycle-powered rickshaws run in the city each day, but increasing traffic congestion have led to their ban on many of Dhaka's major roads.
