Daubignys art reveals the man, andhe was as free from affectation in his most sub-lime pages as in these familiar notes of drawing or etching done at white heat often brings us as near to the personality of agreat master as his more labored drawings shown and a number of the etch-ings came from the artists family, and the stampof the Daubigny collection is affixed to thedrawings, which he rarely signed,—except withthe indelible and ever-present mark of hismasterly mind and hand.
