The Bureau of Architecture of the Department of Engineering hascharge of all work of the Department of Engineering: First, at 23different state institutions, which have a combined population instudents, patients and prisoners of about 20,000; and second, at 17other state institutions or enterprises, making a total of 40 differentinstitutions and enterprises. During the biennial period just ended the bureau has been housedon the sixth floor of the Forum building, under conditions which havebeen satisfactory and favorable to the production of the best results.
