Tiong Seng(II. in the chart), on the contrary, gave a historythat distinctly pointed to filarial infection. They began, he said, with afeeling of giddiness, and painful aching wearinessin the body and limbs. This gradually merged into acold stage of two or three hours duration, which wassucceeded by a hot stage of very high fever lastingfor twenty-four hours and terminating in a moderatediaphoresis continuing for an hour or two.
