Simon McKeon, commanding officer of guided-missile destroyer USS Curtis Wilbur (DDG 54), presents Yusuke Fukui, Mayor of Shimoda, Japan, with a gift during the 79th Shimoda Black Ship Festival. The Navy’s participation in the festival celebrates the heritage of naval partnership first established by Commodore Matthew Perry’s 1853 port visit.
