On a 2800 mtr flat top mountain is Debre Demo - the oldest working monastery in Ethiopia. This two picture stitch panoramic image shows the monastery on top of the mountain. The monks live here self sufficient where the only way up is by rope hoist (pigskin). Tradition claims the monastery was founded in the sixth century by Abuna Aregawi.
