Our house in Jeypore had a cool, shadygarden at the back, on which our verandaopened, and we sometimes rebelled when teaand toast were brought to us at four oclock inthe morning, and we knew that we must be upand away for our sight-seeing in order to behome again before the heat of the day. Buton the morning of which I speak we were tohave an unusual experience, and were promptlyready at half-past four. We drove through the
